Starting January 1, 2024, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will increase the cost-of-living
allowing some international students to work full-time off-campus, set to expire on December 31, 2023.
Initially, families in Canada for less than two years had lower credit visibility, but this increased to 93.9% for those in Canada for two to four years.
IRCC announced in the fall of 2022 that international students enrolled in classes beginning on November 15, 2022, and continuing through 2023, and provided with off-campus work permission on their study permit, would be permitted to work off-campus for more than the standard 20 hours per week.
